- Malcolm Greatbanks, the GLF’s candidate in Lambethj Norwood got 223 votes in the general election. Dr Una Kroll, Women’s Rights Campaign, got 298 in Sutton and Cheam. Two men who used the Sauna 385 bathhouse in West Bromwich were arrested and charged by homophobic police; one was fined £150 with £15 costs, the other £125 and £25. Club Rokoko in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is closed by magistrates after the users of the building in daytime – a bingo club – objected to sharing the building.
