Doug Pollard gets the cover with a story about a crime in New York that was notable enough to be made into the film Dog Day Afternoon starring Al Pacino. Meanwhile, Lilly Law has started to persecute the Keele Gay Liberation Society after many weeks of spying on them as they meet in a local pub; the usual modus operandi – accusing them of having sex with men aged under 21 – was used to drag them into court. Weymouth Council has withdrawn its offer to host CHE’s first annual conference due to the very idea being ‘disgusting’. Weymouth’s loss would be Morecambe’s gain. Reviews include Asylum (liked) and The Godfather (disliked).
